Iraq 10/3/2005
A buddy of mine came back from Iraq recently. He was serving out
his duty in the army. Just thought I'd share part of the
discussion with you...
Scott: i survived iraq
Scott: made it home safe
Scott: 19 month adventure came to an end
about 2 week ago
Scott: i hate iraq
Scott: i am enjooying life
Scott: im home safe
Scott: no girlfriend dumped me when icame
home on leave in july
Scott: trying to find new one
Scott: back to school in jan
Scott: looking for job
Scott: money in bank life is good
Scott: sorryi havnt kept in touch life has
been flying by out of control over the last year
Me: please tell me that what the US is
doing in Iraq is worth it
Scott: lol
Scott: guarding oil pipe line?
Scott: hundreds of miles of oil pouring
onto the ground
Scott: and gas is 3$ a gallon here
Scott: 20,000 wounded
Scott: 2,000 dead
Scott: no way out
Me: so, not worth it, huh?
Scott: fuck no dude
Scott: they might be free but all the
terrorists moved in
Scott: we will never get out now
Scott: you cant win a war on evil
Me: yeah, that's what we figure here. I
remember when bush said "it won't be another vietnam." bullshit

Scott: whatever
Scott: its worse

Scott: so life is good eh
Scott: be happy we live here in america
where you can do what you want for the most part
Me: yeah, until bush gets "elected" for a
third term :P
Scott: is that even fucking possible
Scott: only 2 right
Me: no, it's illegal according to the
constitution, but we'll see what happens around election-time
Scott: rofl
Scott: yep we are fucked
Scott: whole country went to shit
Scott: floods gas prices jobs money etc
Scott: someone makes a lot of money though
on it all
Me: yup, halliburton has contracts for
everything out there, huh?
Scott: fuck yeah
Scott: dude you should see it
Scott: truck after truck rolling brand new
F550 trucks
Scott: for one person to drive around in
Scott: every day millions of dollars worth
of your tax dollars going into that shit hole
Scott: brand new everything
Me: gotta love that. can't build levies in
new orleans so the city didn't flood, but we had the money to dump into
that desert country
Scott: yeah
Scott: fucked up
Scott: all i can say is wow
Scott: granted some people are happy and
free
Scott: but i dunno
Scott: so dangerous
Scott: so scary so hot so everything
Me: are you done with the military now?
Scott: i got one more year part time still
Scott: hope to god i dont go back
Scott: i feel shitty phsyically
Scott: my lungs hurt
Scott: i have bad dreams
Scott: i am shell shocked i think
Scott: girlfriend dumped me after 4 years
while i was over there
Scott: its just bad
Me: some of that will probably never go
away, sorry to say. people are still messed up from the first war in
iraq
