This weekend has certainly had its ups and downs.  On Friday, I went to lunch with the coworkers at an Indian buffet in Redmond.  The food was good, the place was packed, but I didn’t feel right the rest of the day.  After work, I drove around downtown / capital hill then went to dinner with Travis and Bonnie at Pike’s Pub.  Mmm… gotta love a good nut brown ale and fresh salmon.  After dinner, we got some candied apples (which I still haven’t eaten yet…) and then we parted ways for the night.

The sensation of not feeling right became worse.  It took a while to kick in, but I’m pretty sure I contracted a mild case of food poisoning from the buffet.  D’oh!  For your sake, I won’t get into the gritty details of that…  but I had to wake up about a dozen times throughout the night.

On Saturday, I was feeling mildly better, so I paid Travis and Bonnie a visit in Federal Way.  We went to Ikea… and I now understand why Stephanie was raving about that place.  I purchased a queen-sized bed with the most comfy mattress ever and an awesome wrought iron frame.  Wahoo.  That place is enormous!  I can’t wait until I move into the new place and have that bed delivered.

Next, we ventured down towards the Pacific Coast Highway near Aberdeen.  On the way in to Aberdeen, there’s a town sign that says “Come as you are”.  Poor Kurt Cobain must be rolling in his grave.  Aberdeen seems like a nice town… reminds me of some of the older towns in Copper Country in upper Michigan.  The sad thing… a lot of the buildings were empty and run down in the downtown area.  Must be a horrible place to try to find work.

From there, we went west towards the ocean.  We wanted to catch some sunset photo opportunities, but we arrived there too late.  Oh well, it was a fun drive and I managed to snag a couple of good dusk photos.
