G. W. Bush is a fucking moron. He has been president for only a couple of months and the country is on its way into the fire. NASA had already slashed its habitation module, propulsion module, and the crew return vehicle on the space station because of him. Bush is pushing a tax cut that reminds me of Reaganomics. It will not work, and our economy will suffer. He has already cut federal funding to overseas abortion clinics. Bush has also put federal funding into church-based charity groups. So much for the separation of church and state. What does this say about our president? The man who didn’t even win the popular vote? It says that he cares more about short-term economic gain as opposed to long-term scientific progress. Bush cares more about appeasing the wealthy instead of paying off our nation debt first. Bush put his religious viewpoints ahead of personal freedom. He has the right idea on the charity issue, but he’s just going about it the wrong way. Bush is going to send this country straight to hell. That road is often paved with good intentions, is it not? Bush has managed to upset some of our middle-eastern allies by bombing Iraq without being attacked first, this time. We are much more powerful than them, but we feel the need to blow the shit out of them on a regular basis, why? I don’t know anymore… it seems like we are at the edge of an abyss to an intellectual dark age. We are beginning to slide into the darkness. Locally, the LDS church purchased the Tribune (Salt Lake’s biggest newspaper) to shut up their critics. Utah appointed a virgin (in her 40’s) to become our porn czar. This woman has never watched porn or had sex, yet she’s supposed to be an objective judge for what is obscene and what isn’t? Doesn’t it seem unreasonable that people are deciding our standards for us? If you don’t like something, isn’t it better to simply not look at it, to change the channel, rather than deciding that your tastes are going to be everyone’s standards? Freedom of speech apparently doesn’t matter if something is offensive to a handful of people. |
